Basmati Rice With Peas and Carrots
The concept of food combining is real and essential to eating properly. Some foods digest well together, while others do not – for example, pizza (mixing tomato sauce, cheese and flour), fruits and nuts, beans and cheese, etc. When we combine foods properly, we improve the quality of our digestion, and receive a higher level of nutrition in what we eat.
Combining foods with different energies and tastes can overwhelm our digestion and cause indigestion, fermentation, gas, and bloating. We’ve all experienced some of these sensations at some point in our eating journey. Have you ever asked why?
Bottom line, be aware! If you want to feel good during and after a meal, consider combining your foods properly and at the right time.

Genia’s Spoon Me Tips
This basmati recipe is simple but sound. You can add tamari, which is gluten-free, or my personal favorite, coconut aminos, for a sweeter taste. You only need a little. Both are slightly salty, so whether to add more salt is the chef's choice.
You can add a protein on top such as grilled chicken, salmon, or tofu, and even mix in a scrambled egg to give this dish an Asian flare.
Much Love,
